What Is Traveling All About?
Travel is essentially the movement of humans between different distant geographical locations. Travel can be either one way, or round trip, and is usually done by automobile, horseback, plane, train, bus, bicycle or any other mode of transportation. One-way travel is when one person travels between destinations on a fixed route, while round-trip travel is when two or more people travel on different routes within the same area. Some forms of travel include caravanning, hiking, canoeing, fishing, camping, skiing, mountain climbing, sightseeing, air touring, jet skiing, motor biking, bungee jumping, rafting, bungee jumping, sky diving, rock climbing, trekking, skating, snorkeling, jet skiing, camping and jet skiing. Other types of travel include caravaning, hiking, cycling, trekking, mountaineering, camping and hiking.
How do we understand travel meaning? It depends on the kind of travel we are doing, whether it is one-way or round-trip. If we want to understand travel in the United States, for example, we will have to look at what we call the weekend. Weekend breaks in the US are generally referred to as vacations, and if we want to understand travel in that context, then we should know that there are seven basic parts of a vacation.
The first part is activities. The activities depend on the destination, but can include anything from water sports to cultural events to museums to sightseeing. The second part is the accommodation, which can include a hotel or inn, cottages, hotels and apartments, or even an RV (RV). The last part is transportation, which can include air travel, boats, trains, automobiles, trucks, busses, planes, and other ways of getting around the country.
Let’s take a look at the last part, transportation. How do we define travel in this case? Traveling means going from one place to another. We have to be able to move on when we get tired of one place, so we have to plan carefully when we set out to travel. If it is a long distance trip, for example, we should plan carefully how we will get from one place to another once we are done with our travel. Some people even arrange their flights and trains in advance to make the most of cheap travel.
The other major part of travel is what we do while we are travelling. We can eat where we want when we are on a long term travel, so long as we leave enough space in our stomach to pack what we want to eat and what we need to carry with us. This is, however, not possible in a short distance travel. That is why some students take gap year trips. A gap year is usually about three or four years, so students will have ample time to plan the things they need to do while they are traveling.
Thus, travelling is not only about routine and non-routine activities. It is also about planning ahead, about flexibility, about creativity and about letting go to some extent. In short, it is about having some fun while travelling! So, let us look at some other travel meaning of ‘fun’. After all, this is something we should all try to achieve at least once in our lifetime.
